What do you get?

These are from the large range of flying ships from Brigade’s Aeronef range. Aeronef is a set of rules produced by Wessex Games that enable you to fight battles in the 19th Century skies using pre-Wright brothers flying machines. So very much VSF.

These two models are from the Japanese fleet, a (suitably) chunky battleship and a smaller Heavy Cruiser. The battleship comes with a separate bridge/superstructure, that fits snugly on a positioning peg and a pair of masts. There are predrilled holes for the masts but a spot of superglue will be required to hold them in place. The Akitsushima comes as a single piece again with a pair of masts. There is only one hole in the superstructure so I assume that it is down to you to choose which one to use.

Both models are very cleanly caste with little if any cleaning up required before assembly and painting. The details and edges are very sharp. The guns in the large turrets do have a piece of metal between them and the deck but this is probably just a casting practicality issue and is not generally visible unless you go looking for it.

The final word.

Nice little models and very easy to build; should be straightforward to paint as the detail is so sharp and precise. A good addition to Brigade Models Aeronef range.
