What do you get?
The figures up for review are from the great little range of Great War soldiers from the Belgian army. The light machine gun pack comes with two figure, one advancing with a Lewis gun and the other holding a rifle and a spare magazine for the Lewis in his left hand.

The gunner has his weapon pointing forwards so looks fine moving or firing from the hip (if that is even possible with a Lewis gun – looks okay though.) The loader has a separate right arm so allows some variation in pose.

The cyclists (and yes I was disappointed that they are not riding their cycles) are three to a pack , all the figures are advancing and armed with rifles. One of the three has a separate right arm, the same one as the loader from the LMG pack. The sculpts are all very clean with minimal mould lines and nice animation. The detail is not as exaggerated as some modern 28s but it is still plenty to make painting these quite straightforward.
The final word.
As Brigade have already produced a dog cart machine gun in this range I have my fingers crossed for mounted cyclists. In the meantime these are nicely done miniatures and very usable in style and pose, if a subject that is a small niche in WW1 gaming. They fit in with other popular ranges for heft and proportions and easily hold their own as far as detail. (The Foundry figure in the photo is from their Darkest Africa range so is the larger style of Foundry figure not the diminutive Great War range.)
