What do you get?
The Khurasan T-Rex consists of seven parts including a base
and tree stump (more on that later). The first thing that
struck me was it is unusual to have models of this size in
so few parts. I'm much more used to having to attach at least
one of the legs, maybe the tail aswell. Not with this miniature.
The head comes in two parts and is a good fit between those
parts and to the main body. You get optional arm plumes (feathery
bits) as well.
The miniature has a good deal of texture for the skin with
lots of spikey bits along the length on its body. Overall
detail is very sharp with little or no flash.

As well as the parts that make up the miniature you also get a generous sized metal base and a tree stump. The purpose of the tree stump was not immediately obvious to me, but after you position the T-rex miniature on the base you see that the tree stump acts as additional support to hold the miniature up, partly because of the stance of the miniature (leaning forward) but also because of the weight.
How does it compare?
The miniature is designed in scale for 15mm. Here it is shown with a GZG 15mm Sci-Fi trooper and some 15mm Corvus Beli Celts. As you can see at this scale the T-rex has a suitably commanding presence.
As a further comparison I'm showing the T-rex alongside a Black Cat Bases 28mm Pirate and Games Workshop 28mm plastic space marine. Given the number of Pulp style games involving Dinosaurs from the fogotten land this miniature would still work at this larger scale as a suitable beastie.
The final word.
The Khurasan T-rex is a well sculpted miniature with plenty of detail and easy to assemble, in part due to the small number of pieces. The size is very good for the scale it is aimed at and I like the running/attack stance of the miniature. Comparable miniatures normally have T-rex as standing so this is a good change. However that comes at a slight disadvantage, because the miniature is metal it is heavy and requires good sturdy support. I fear for the miniature being handled in and out of carry cases and during games. I think this miniature is a good addition to Khurasan own dinosaur range and gives the gamer a good choice from either plastic toy miniatures or less anatomically correct metal dinosaurs from other manufacturers. But equally I think this miniature would be a must buy if produced in resin.
